In the Bible, God’s mercy refers to His compassion and forgiveness toward those who deserve judgment. Mercy is God not giving us the punishment we rightfully deserve. His mercy flows from His love and is available to all who repent and believe.
Trustworthiness means that God is completely reliable, faithful, and true to His promises. Unlike people, God never lies, forgets, or fails to do what He says. He is a God we can fully depend on, even when we don’t understand our circumstances.
When we understand and embrace God’s mercy and faithfulness, we are filled with hope, confidence, and peace in every situation.

Lamentations 3:22–23 (NIV)
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

The father in this parable represents God. Though the son wasted everything and returned in shame, the father welcomed him with mercy and restored him. God’s mercy is always ready for those who return.
Joseph (Genesis 37–50):
Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and wrongly imprisoned, Joseph still trusted God. In the end, God was faithful and elevated him to a place of honor. Joseph said, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” (Gen 50:20)
David (2 Samuel 11–12; Psalm 51):
After sinning grievously, David repented. Though there were consequences, God forgave him. David later wrote many psalms praising God’s mercy and faithfulness.
The Israelites in the Wilderness (Exodus – Numbers):
Despite repeated failures and complaints, God provided for them, forgave them, and led them. His mercy endured even in their disobedience.

I believe that God is so merciful that anyone earnestly seeking his mercy will receive it. There are few practical steps we could take :
Confess and Accept Mercy: Don’t run from God when you sin—run to Him. He is ready to forgive, cleanse, and restore you.
Trust His Promises: In times of uncertainty or fear, anchor yourself in God’s Word. His promises are sure. He will not fail you.
Extend Mercy to Others: As recipients of God’s mercy, we are called to show mercy to those who wrong us (Luke 6:36).
Stay Faithful: Because God is trustworthy, we can live faithfully—obeying Him, even when we don’t understand everything.
Keep Hope Alive: Even in failure, suffering, or silence, God’s mercy is present. His faithfulness never ends.
